October 13th, 2011 Standings

The first week of action in the NHL, led some surprises and some not so shocking placements... Here are the standings for the first week of the 2011-2012 Season.

**New York Rangers sitting in 9th right behind the 8th place Pittsburgh Penguins. Surprise? The New York Islanders are sitting in 3rd in the Eastern Conference.. But, its only the 1st week, and things change dramatically. Non Surprise? The Toronto Maple Leafs sit in 14th place just ahead of the slumping Florida Panthers. Sitting in 1st place is the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins. Washington not far behind.

** The Calgary Flames holding onto the 8th spot with San Jose right behind them, Phoenix sitting in last place in the Conference, and the All Mighty Vancouver Canucks holding the 1st Place Spot. Surprise? Oh yeah, the Columbus Blue Jackets currently lounging in 2nd Place in the Western Conference. Will Vancouver try to make another Stanley Cup Appearence this year? We will see, come season end...
